This candle blends together bright notes of apple cider, cranberry, and orange peel with spice and wood. Its name evokes two separate, but related inspirations: one, the mulled beverage, made with apples, spices, spirits, and oranges which has traditionally been enjoyed during the Yuletide season, and the second the folk practice of wassailing the trees to ask them for a bountiful harvest. In some traditions, it was believed that one tree held a spirit who had sway over the fertility of the orchard and who needed to be thanked–and in some cases, appeased–in order to ensure a crop of fruit in the coming season. Multiple songs associated with Yuletide speak to this practice, and the candle is inspired by the crisp winter air the night of a wassail, and the experience of singing to the trees in thanks and hope.

The label design for this candle is drawn from a medieval text with even older roots, depicting an apple harvest, thus combining art and scent, and ornamented with colorful firethorn berries, amber, cinnamon, and clove. 

This 9 oz candle is hand-poured in small batches, with a burning time of 40+ hours.
